Hi there,

after updating my ATI catalyst driver my TMP stopped working.

After spending the wohle day with it, i was able to identify the problem:
It seems that my hardware decoding DXVA2 is not working anymore.

I´m using a AMD APU A6-3500 on Windows 7 with LAV codec.
Trying to start a video with windows media player just crashes or give my strange errors.
When i set hardware decoder (inside LAV settings) to :
- DXVA copy back, the video starts (i can hear sound) but the screen is totaly green.
- DXVA native is complety not working.
- settings to None makes me able to start the playback.

I also testing it out with media player classic (which is using DXVA1) works fine.

Only the DXVA2 is not working anymore. By the way: It was working fine for years before.

So with that problem i figure out that my "Leistungsindex" tool from windows also stopps working when trying to test media performance.................

At first I loaded a lot of ATI drivers because i was thinking about a driver problem.

Right now i´m totaly out of ideas.............. Maybe hardware is broken?
Maybe it is a problem with my directx?

Can anybody help me with this?

I'm not an expert but if I wanted to eleminate hardware malfunction case I'd revert to previous drivers and check if alll is working.
My guess it's all because of ATI drivers since they are known crap.

I meant remove current drivers -> install previous ones. Not systeme restore. I'm sure they could be easily found in internet.

ah... you could also try to reinstall LAV.
Or use another decoders. BTW I can't agreee that MPC have DXVA1 since it's mostly XP case. I'm using only MPC-BE filters even in MP personally.

I have tried 3 different LAV versions already. Also MS-DVT decoder and ATI decoder are not working.
I'm not an expert with that codecs.. As far as I know Windows XP only supports DXVA1 but I'm not sure.

    Yes I'm on win 7 32bit.
And dxva2 was running fine the whole time.
I can image that my gpu unit is damaged. But how can I confirm this for being sure? Using a benchmark?
