Some log entries

My guess is that it has to do with the VMR9Helper: playing->repaint entry.

Best Regards

I had the same problem and detected that my harddrive partition was full, leaving only 500kb, so mp froze within seconds when trying to write the ts-data.
I have enough space again and mp runs again.
but i am not completely sure if this was the core problem because it froze once again after that but I did not watch much tv lately.

    Thanks

    Thanks,
I am afraid have lots of free HD space.

May this be related to codecs or other TV setup?
Perhaps a CVS version is better?

    Best Regards

Try using another video codec, like the Mpeg2Dec. I found that the Interlink Mpeg2 Codec that my Hauppaheg card installs also causes freezes after some time watching the TV. So I just use Mpeg2Dec with works perfectly well for me :) .

    Thanks igalan,
I am now trying different codecs.
Hoping to find one that dont freezes myTV with timeshift.
Would be great to have purevideo working though.

Ill post when my tests are done.

    Findigs so far

    Hi,
    Have now tried following codecs:
    - Mpeg2Dec Filter
    - NVIDIA Video Decoder
    - DScaler Mpeg2 Video Decoder
    - CyberLink Video/SP Decoder

They all causes myTV to freeze when using timeshift. Same goes for recordings.
The only difference among above codecs is how long it takes before freezing.

What codec is recomended to use with FireDTV?

    Best Regards

If Media Portal freezes during recordings while you're on the home screen with TV stopped (nothing is being played back), then the problem is somewhere else. In that case it won't matter much the codec, because AFAIK it's not being used for recording.

Because you've already tried with a clean install the next thing to look would be the drivers of the FireDTV; but I can't help you with that (I'm on analog), maybe other users of this same tuner can. Be aware that Media Portal is under heavy development, specially for DVB. I would contrast with the experience of other users with a similar setup.

    Solved

Thank you so much for your help.

    The problem is now solved.

It turned out that using a different firewire-port did the trick.

    Best Regards
