I'm having one hell of a time setting up live TV.
No matter what I do, no channels are listed.
Of course, the channels scan fine in TV Server setup and WEB EPG also works just fine.

I have all channels in the "All Channels" group that was there with MP setup.

The client however doesn't list any channels either in channel view or EPG view.
Logs say there's something wrong with object creation (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.)

I must be doing something wrong. Can somebody please help me fix this?

    A bit of additional background:
I have completely removed the beta version along with MySQL server and reinstalled from scratch.
I made extra sure that no files remained from previous version except for some TV recordings (which I imported into the database).

Sorry, just saw the warning thread, so here are steps to "reproduce":
    Uninstall previous MP, MySQL
Delete any remaining files / folders from Program files + Program Data
    Install MP
    Run TvServer, scan channels
Do some channel rearrangement in All Channels group (preferred channels first, naturally)
    Run MP Client setup
Set codecs, set Video / Music folders.
Set a few TV parameters (show channel numbers, etc.)
    Run MP
    Start TV
Observe how it doesn't work :(

    Also added configuration log

    Re: No channels in TV

    Sorry, my bad.

I went looking at exported TV configuration XML and noticed that groups were strangely defined. TV channels were in radio group, etc.

That made me remember that this problem is because I had no "All Channels" in radio groups. In fact I had no groups at all.

Would be nice if this was fixed at some point though.

    I have the same problem:
    - In TV server I can preview TV programs, but TV guide or list of channels in mediaporal are blank.
    - I added in TV server group "All Channels" for radio and it fixed the problem for radio stations, but not for TV.
Velis, can you please describe what exactely have you done to solve the problem.
    Thanks in advance.

Hm, I'm not sure I can clarify much further.
Initial install had "All Channels" for TV, but not for radio.

This led to TV channels not appearing at all. I don't know about radio, I haven't even tested that.

I added "All Channels" group to radio channels and assigned all radio channels into it.
I also assigned all TV channels into TV "All Channels" group. After that, everything worked...

Note that before I had radio "All channels" group, TV channels would not assign to the "All Channels" group. If I did that, the assignment would be gone by next TV Server Configuration restart or even just by changing settings pages.

Can't be sure I'll be much more help here.

So if I understand your thread correctly, the original two scans showed programs nicely in MP client?
Only the third scan then messed up everything?

My problem only appears if you have at least 1 radio station scanned and in the radio channels list.
In order to solve it, you have to create "All Channels" group for radio stations.
See my previous post for more clarification on the process.

If your situation is not the same (you don't have any radio stations scanned), I don't know how to help you.
Gather logs and file a support request if that's the case.

edit: Ok it worked. after adding the radio all channels group and moving the radios inside, I once more moved the Tv channels to the All Channels group and now I hev the channels in program section of My TV. THX
