Some channels stuttering (1 Viewer)

Hello,

This week I've installed MP, the most things work actually quite good But one thing is driving me crazy.... I use MP also for TV, my TV signal is coming from a satellite. Some channels are working nice, but other channels are bad, these channels are always the same. I'll list my channels here, with the status behind:

Ned 1: Good
Ned 2: Good
Ned 3: Good
RTL 4: Bad
RTL 5: Bad
RTL 7: Bad
RTL 8: Bad
Veronica : Good
NET 5: Good
Discovery channel: Bad
Animal Planet: Bad
National Geographic: Good

Probably you don't need this list, but it gives you an idea. As you can see, that's about 50%. I think it's kind of weird that this is not happening to all my channels. I removed my virus scanner and other stuff which may cause this problem.

One thing that strikes me, is that the CPU and GPU utilization is different. On the good channels the usage is about 10 - 20% for the CPU and 62% GPU. The bad channels show interesting stuff: The CPU usage is about the same, but the GPU drops from 60% to 30% and returns to 60% (mostly closer to 30%). This may look like a codec problem but i tried deferent codec’s with no result...

Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. All RTL and discovery stutter and garbled.

Where you from?

In my case, it's for sure that it is not a hardware problem. I've returned the Skystar HD 2 and bought a Terratec S7, so I could exclude a hardware problem. Unfortunately the problem still remains, really nothing changed. Because the Terratec S7 is connected trough usb, I tried also my laptop, but still the same.... I don't know how to fix this problem, it really makes me sick.

While troubleshooting I discoverd one thing. The stream rate is higher on the channels that are stuttering. These channels are streaming with 256 kbps, while others streaming at 192 or even 160 kbps...

I am from the Netherlands.

I wonder if the described problem has something to do with the ikverhuismee.tv | Home action where all kind of moves and changes take place on the Astra 19.2. Just two weeks ago i watched RTL4 still normal.

If you look at king of sat site (Astra 1H / Astra 1KR / Astra 1L / Astra 1M (19.2°E) - Alle uitzendingen - Frequenties - KingOfSat) you see that all RTL channels are 16:9 opposed to 4:3. Maybe this is why the bandwidth usage is higher.

6 years ago i built a htpc with technotrend budget SD. Now i want to have a full HD htpc with also blueray playback and recording. I have a full HD camera also so that's why. I even have two skystar HD2 in. I want to record while i watch another transponder.

Do you have a DUO LNB with which you can receive both Astra 19.2 (SD) and Astra 23.5 (HD)? I do not have this yet.

I also have a technotrend skystar2 USB HD this is S7 alike. I sometimes use it to watch on my laptop (linux based). I can give it a try with windows to check it.

I've got a single LNB, just turn the platter a little bit to recieve ASTRA 23.5

I don't know if it has anything to do with the ikverhuismee action. My problem exists since February the 20th, so...

I think it had really something to do with ikverhuismee. Problem is over without any action. Also with skystar usb 2 hd ci on my laptop. Does the problem still persist with you?

Yes it does. Maybe a little bit less than a few weeks ago.
