Hi All,

Apologies if this has been posted before. I have done a search and came up with nothing.

Been using MP for a couple of weeks.. great lil app ;). Have been having one issue with recordings though. Some recordings, not all, won't play back. When i go to to Recorded TV and select one nothing happens. It thinks for a moment then just stays on that screen. No black screen, no audio, no video, nothing.

I have switched to other audio and video codecs such as ffdshow, Ligos, Pinnacle, but to no avail. They play fine out of MP in WMP and WMP classic. MP is set to record to .MPEG but a couple of earlier recordings in .TS had the same problem i think. The first version i used was RC4. I have now started from scratch with 1.0.0.0 Final and its still occurring.

This problem has occurred on about 8/10 MPEG recordings. Why it worked on a couple of others puzzles me. File size doesnt seem to be a factor.

One thing i did notice was that when i analyzed the good mpeg recordings with GSpot it came up with this in the Container field:

DVD "VOB" format
MPEG-2 Program Stream << { 1 vid, 8 aud, 8 other }
Sys Bitrate: 10384 kb/s

When i analyzed one of the bad mpeg recordings it came up with:

MPEG-2 Program Stream << { 1 vid, 1 aud }
Sys Bitrate: 10384 kb/s

No line "DVD "VOB" format"

The other bad recordings were also missing this line..

I checked MP and the TV server config but could find any options similar.

If you need more info re my system let me know.

Cheers,

Muff

    Can you perhaps make 100% sure on this? Another user fixed his setup by changing all cards to record in ts. I know he got a diferent error, but its worth a try.

    I did three quick recordings in .ts file format and they worked.
    I will see how it goes over the next week.
    Any ideas why mpeg will not work though?

    Looks like all mpeg2 files are not equal :)

    No one's pinpointed why the difference, just easier to make the default ts, which most programs now work with by default, even Windows Movie Maker.
