Hi,
I am currently using to the dscaler for audio decoding as it seems to be more versatile than the NVIDIA Audio decoder which I also have installed. I have trouble getting the NVIDIA codec to work with DVDs and some high def files.
The only problem is, is that the dscaler seems to have a higher CPU utilisation than the NVIDIA audio codec and consequently heats up my CPU making the PC noisier.
Would buying a PCI soundcard (instead of using the onboard one Realtek AC97) help lower the CPU time, or are there any other more efficient audio decoders out there?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks
