Hi all,

After a number of HDMI issues I'm almost certainly going to move to connecting my HTPC to my AVR with an optical out cable rather than HDMI.

Challenge is that my Gigabyte motherboard has a 2 pin connection but Gigabyte does not sell a backplate and cable so that I am a bit stuck.

Does anyone know where I can get such a backplate from that would ship to Australia? I tried googling and searching on eBay with no success.

Cheers - Scott

Hi Scott, I think that I read in some Gigabyte-Forums that, if you write an email to the Gigabyte Support, they will send you the backplane for nothing.

Maybe try this first..... good luck

Any backplate with optical and coaxial should work, you just need to change the pinout accordingly, theres a wealth of guides, just need to google, actually i have a biostar mobo with a gigabyte backplate, was plug and play, if you get a hold of one, just pm me and gladly help you out.
