Up untill recently I'm sure there was a spell checker on new posts, (misspelled words were highlighted). It does not seem to be working anymore, has something in this respect changed on the forum, is it a setting issue for me alone or am I mistaken and it was never there????

It seems to be working for me; misspelled words are underlined with a red wavy line.

I have just looked through the profile settings for the MP web site, but there does not seem to be a setting to enable or disable spell-checking. So I think that it is the web browser that is doing the spell checking. I use Firefox, and in the "General" tab of "Settings" there is a setting Check your spelling as you type, which is enabled on my system. (y)

Apparently I have 146.0.1 (64-bit). And there is a smiley-face icon with Firefox is up to date.

I usually leave Firefox running but minimised when I am not web browsing, and I have noticed that Firefox updates are not installed (this may be a result of the Firefox settings that I am using). So periodically I close Firefox and restart it, at which point it updates to the latest release.

thats a browser setting on your local system. The forum software does not offer any kind of spell check.

does your Firefox have the matching language tools installed?

    Got it.:)
I clicked on the box highlighted in the attached screenshot and also added English GB to that and removed the existing English EN. Misspellled words (like that one) are now underlined with red wavy line.:)
