does MP support any standalone CI unit without having a TV card along with it ? ie i already have CAM and subscription card.

i know about the FireDTV one but that is also a tv card as well... i already have Nebula DigiTV cards but their PayTV solution is not supported by MP as it uses softcam technology.

i wasn't asking for a softcam solution.

i was asking what standalone hardware CI units ARE supported.

i stated that i will be viewing legally, and that i am asking which method "I CAN" use.

please read what i post!

yes i saw them.... however they are not standalone CI units.... you need to have the TV cards as well.

oh well looks like there is very limited support for this then.

here's a question... if i ran a dual tuner system using the twinhan cards... would i be able to use just one CAM & Card ? or would i need to have a CAM/Card in both twinhan cards.

one CAM + smartcard per TV-Card.
like you would also have to do with ordinary receivers.

Just for the record the Twinhan DTV Sat-CI works fine with the Dragon cam and my Pay card works fine in the cam. And all works fine on Mediaportal. Not sure if you can have two in the same reciever. Some cards you can have two.

Some ordinary receivers require only one smartcard but have multiple tuners....
