Hi,

When my system goes into standby (when the PC monitor closes off) but the PC is still running.
If I move the mouse to wake it up. MP front end software is closed but it was open before going into standby.

Is this normal?
And does this also mean that the TV-Server has closed and would not act as it should?

Not sure what you mean by closed. You mean the MP is not running any more on resume, has minimized to tray, minimized to task bar or something else?

Is the sleep via windows power settings? MP works a lot better if you let it control power (so you never actually turn off the machine)

TV server runs as a service so should still be running fine (although if MP has not put the machine to sleep it may not know to wake up at the right time to record a program)

Check task manager and if tvservice.exe is there then it is still running

    Hi,

Not sure it is this. It's not minimized. It's just not open at all.
I've checked Task Manager (Processes) and it does not appear to be there.

How do I know if the TV server application is running?[DOUBLEPOST=1352488168][/DOUBLEPOST]

    It's closed. Not minimized.

As far as shut down options. All I did was enabled the power saving features as per robbo's tutorial.

    1.4) Pre-Installation Preparation

Make sure your system is power-saving correctly (particularly important for your server. I set my system up so that the display turns off after 3 minutes at idle and the hard drives park after 5 minutes at idle. I also then set the system to go into standby after 5 minutes. If for any reason you can't get the system to go into standby using windows, all is not lost as MP has a method of forcing the system to go into standby for you (we will talk about power-saving settings in MP later on in the guide). You will also want to make sure you can get your remote control to wake the PC up from standby.

So in Windows 7 Ultimate. I set the POWER SAVING options (control panel) to
    Turn off monitor: 10 mins
    Put to Sleep: Never
    HDD power down: 5 mins
    hybrid sleep: On
    Hibernate after: Never
    Allow wake timers: On
    USB suspend: On

    In the BIOS I have:
    CPU C1E: Enabled
    CPU C3: Auto
    CPU C6: Auto
Package C State Support: Auto[DOUBLEPOST=1352488829][/DOUBLEPOST]So.. at the moment... MP is open..I'm in the Videos area.
I'll leave it there idle... nothing playing.

I will come back and the monitor will have closed off.. But system still active (turned on with fans spinning) I move the move. It instantly comes back on.
    But no MP open still.
