start mp with mce remote (1 Viewer)

I've got MP 1.0 on a Vista PC (including MCE). The MCE remote came with the zalman case and works fine with IRTrans.
My problem now is when I press the green button MCE starts.
When I open MP manually (by mouse doubleclick), I can navigate with the mce remote without any problems, I can even close MP. But I can't open MP.
Is there a trick to open MP instead of MCE with the green button?

I think you need that
MEDIAPORTAL - free media center - MpTrayMod

and you must disable the MCE services I think.

I installed mptray but MP does not start with the green button.
I checked with the task manager and the mptray process is running.

Is there any configuration that I need to do?
Any hint?

I don't know about MpTrayMod but the old one needed to be running from the MediaPortal folder. Is that the case with your setup ?

Yes, it's in [Programs Dir]\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

I also run the installation bat file.
Mptray entry appears in registry and in active processes.

Is mphook.dll there as well, is this all on the c: drive (should not matter).

Has your remote got RC6 on the battery cover.

I have the same problem he is having I have all the files that are included with the download in

C:/program files/team mediaportal/mediaportal

And I can see the process running from the task manager

My remote says rc6 on the back and is the one that comes with some hauppauge tv tuners

I also tried using my microsoft mce keyboard and it wont start mp either

I am running xp pro x32, I have seen others with xp pro that have it working I thought it had to be xp mce 2005 after I tried it
but then I saw others have it working with xp pro. Then this thread made me try it again and I have done a complete reinstall
of windows and MP since the first time. This will still not work for me.

Has anyone else had this problem???

So under device manager, you have listed ehome infrared receiver (USBCIR)

Do all the other buttons work correctly, ie red button changes to fullscreen video, blue changes zoom, yellow subtitles on\off.
