how can i get the normal "movies" out of the home screen then?

and is there a way to rename moving pictures to "movies"?

if that is possible than that would be a nice solution...

When in the plugin section of mp config right click on the movingpictures plugin and choose show on home screen

When I did this it still didnt work right it showed an icon called Films but I couldnt click it
so I went into the watch.xml file and added the link to moving pictures myself

If you use the basic home screen just edit the WatchMenu.xml in the folder of the skin you use

under the films label you will find this

<hyperlink>####</hyperlink>

Make it show this

<hyperlink>96742</hyperlink>

now that button will go to Moving Pictures

hmmm i dont use the basic home screen but the normal home screen...

i can only find watchmenu.xml (this is the one to edit for the basic home screen, am i correct??)

there is no watch.xml (the one to edit for the normal home screen, If i understand your post correct)

so wich .xml file do i have to edit to get the butten "Films" linked to "Moving pictures" in the normal home screen?
