Damn no, it's working just fine with direct sound...
Don't know how I could missed that. I was sure I tested it as well.

Does that mean volume control does not work at all as soon as MPAR is used?

Maybe a setting from MPAR show up the issue ?
So that mean that you set "Default Directsound Device" in "Codecs and Renderer" for video/Bluray/Tv/DVD and now it works right ?.

With the screwdriver when you set MPAR, in MPAR setting was it set in Audio Device ?
Can you try with other Audio Renderer (in MPAR screwdrivers and also directly in "Audio Renderer" for video/bluray....

    Thanks.

Ps : you can try attached MPAR to see if how it does.

MPAR doesn't support volume control. It hasn't been implemented since free time doesn't grow in trees... Also to get better sound quality you should be always using amplifier's volume know to annoy your neighbours.

I thought that only Wave volume control was limited by this, now I know better...
I sure get that this takes time.
Unfortunately, my PC is directly connected to my 5.1 System (no IR) and I have no amplifier in between, so I can only control the volume through MP per remote.

No matter what big thanks for the help to both of you @Sebastiii and @tourettes (y)

Hi. I tried all the suggestions posted but none of them work. Anybody have any other ideas I could try? Did you have a look at my mediaportal logs? Would really like to get this volume issue sorted as it is the only thing I have a problem with.:([DOUBLEPOST=1347194606][/DOUBLEPOST]Even changing the renderer to direct sound X-Fi Blaster (my USB sound device) had no effect. Every setting I try still reverts from master volume to wave.

You should update the PowerScheduler++ plugin to the newest version (1.2.3.4). The bug is fixed in this version and if you still have problems, you can deactivate PowerScheduler's "Unmute audio option" in the PS++ client configuration.

Updated - no effect. Unticked "Unmute audio option" in the PS++ client configuration" still reverts to wave.
