Hi!

I have found several threads according this topic, but nothing helped in my case...

During start up, MP stops at "adding remote section".

Configuration is working fine. I allready configured the tuner card, the channels, ....
But MP will not start.

Maybe there are some new ideas?

Thank you and best regards,
sttau

Hi!

Thank you for the quick response...
But I don´t know exactly what you mean.

When I start mediaportal.exe:
Next window is where i can choose between standard and expert mode.
And than the 'splash screen' window appears. But this stop at 'adding remote section'.

When I start configuration.exe it happens exactly tha same :-(

Where can I do the configuration?

Thank you,
sttau

    Hi and welcome sttau :)

    So you've seen these threads?

They suggest a problem either with DirectX, Windows updates, or random drivers.

Do you have an InputDeviceMappings folder either in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal or the MediaPortal install folder?

    Thank you!
After reading this I´ve a suspicion that drivers are responsible for it....
I will check it this evening when I am at home....

    Hi and welcome Jim :)

I'd be happy to try and help but you're going to need to post your logs - without them I can't tell what might be wrong.

    Hi,

I did tried what you asked for, but it doesn't want to produce a zip file containing the log file.
The only only one thing I have when I want to Report a Bug to Team MediaPortal is
    MediaPortal Watchdog
    File not found C:\ProgramData\TeamMediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.xml

I don't know if it can be of any help ?

    Hi,

Looking for log file I found related to the installation log which contain.
It seems that there is an issue with direct Input, but not sure what to do ? I just do have a keyboad and a mouse connected to the machine ;).

I got an MK320 keyboard in fact. I do not have any remote but an AverMedia DVB-T tuner.
Multimedia key on the keyboard do not work, but it is not a big issue to me.
Does MP can work without any specific remote and just a basic keyboard as an input device ?

Ahhhh, of course - you have not been able to run MP at all. Sorry my mistake. :sorry:

Those log entries show the same symptom as sttau.

Well, that could potentially be part of the problem. Have you installed drivers from Logitech for the keyboard?

Yes, it can. Sometimes external software and system configuration can cause problems though. For sttau it was his keyboard driver. For others it has been DirectX or windows updates as mentioned above. Have you tried to run dxdiag to check that there are no problems?
