Is there a way to stop MovPic to grab infos again from the Internet?

I deleted the covers I don't like form within Movie Manager. However after stopping and restarting the MovPic configuration after some time all the covers I deleted are back again :(

Thanks
grubi.

You can disable the auto retrieval of backdrops in the About -> Advanced Settings... forgot the exact one, but scroll through the options.

    Hi RoChess.

    Thanks for your answer.
The only option I found so far was Cover Art -> Redownload Cover Artwork on Recan but it does not what I'm after.
If I remove a backdrop of a movie e.g. some time later it is back again, same for covers. Sometimes wrong covers are retrieved from the internet which frequently reappear - that's ugly.

Personally I don't like the idea that MovPic is permanently searching the internet on infos for all movies I have in it's database. IMHO there should be an option to avoid this. If I would like to retrieve or update infos from the Internet I would do this form the Movie Manager interactively.

    Regards,
    grubi.

    Just looked at the sources.
MovPic should only try to retrieve Artwork from the Internet when there is no local cover and no Backdrop available.
    No idea what happened.
    Will try again and see.
If you don't want to retrieve a backdrop from the Internet for a specific movie, adding a dummy should do the trick.

    Regards,
    grubi.

Create a cover called folder.jpg and fanart called backdrop.jpg, put it in the same folder as the movie
This will prevent moving pictures from importing fanart online and will force it to use your preferred local version

    Sure?

Here it seems that the local ressources are grabbed in addition to that on the internet (at least for cover art).
However it seems that when you disable receiving of backdrops and cover art on rescan in the advanced options no grabbing is done when at least on backdrop and one cover art already assigned. So I can achive what I want.

    Thanks

    grubi.

What i mean is that if moving pictures finds a local image file, then moving pictures wont bother downloading an image for that particular movie.

That reminds me, I did had simelair behaviour in which MovingPictures would keep trying to fetch cover+backdrops, but none were available on the websites that MovingPictures uses.

So I obtained the covers via Google/Bing Image search and manually added them via the "Movie Manager" tab in configuration in the bottom left corner to manage the cover images.

That was exaclty the problem I had, and I use the same procedure you described to workaround the problem.

That doesn't seem right. I recently replaced my "movie" drive and copied everything from the old drive to the new drive. All the cover art and backdrops should have been on those folders but I had to re-import everything into MovPic. Once done, I had to go through each movie in the movie manager and reassign new cover art. Even after doing that and closing it, it sometimes updates and changes my cover art. Something else is afoot here and I'd like to know what it is.

Be sure to disable downloading cover art and backdrop option on rescan in advanced options.
