Is there any way to configure My TV to store TV series info/coverart etc on disk in directories co-located with the video files rather than in a central database.

I've found having had to reinstall media portal several times that this has forced me to re-import all TV series, which takes some time, however if all met-information could be exported onto disk, and My TV could be configured to look for this information first, it would simplify this process. I'm also interested in similar functionality for Moving Pictures.

For MP-TVSeries this functionality doesn't exist yet, however it is on the to-do list along with many other items.

To show your support to get a certain item implemented before another, you'll have to 'star' the project at the Google code website.

The following issues pertain to your request:

    http://code.google.com/p/mptvseries/issues/detail?id=272
    http://code.google.com/p/mptvseries/issues/detail?id=548

As for Moving-Pictures, that one already has support for it via the local XBMC scraper. On the MovPic forum you can also find a 3rd party utility that will duplicate your artwork to go alongside your mediafile and place an XBMC nfo compatible file with all the textual data. It will allow you to make a quick 100% perfect re-import of your collection, even off-line if needed. You do however on restore have to place the XBMC scraper at primary position so it will actually get used, but instructions for that can be found on wiki/forum and are pretty easy to do.
