I am unable to stretch the .mkv videos that i am playing to hide the black bars showing, this is possible with avi files which makes me belive this is a codec problem. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it?

Thanks a lot.

You have not enabled any screen resolution, or keep aspect ratio in FFDshow, as this will over ride zoom modes and stop you switching.

    Thank you for your reply.

Where can u enable a set screen resolution in ffdshow?
I went and checked the ffdshow settings, no keep aspect ratio was enabled, but If i set it to correct aspect ratio to 16:9 the movies will be full screen, however like you said this will remove my option of changing modes.

If you do not know where it is, then the chances are you have not done it :)

Stretch does not look right with alot of these aspects, but 14:9 does, even smartstretch does a bad job. if installed.

Mind giving me a tiny hint where u can set that? :p

Stretch works quite well with the super widescreen x264 movies thats why I am trying to get it to work. Strangely enough my friend got it working and he hasnt set any special settings.
