Hello. I read on some other topic on using nLITE to build a stripped down version of the XP CD. Mark all the options you dont want, create the cd and reinstall windows from there. Its FREE.

Website: http://nuhi.msfn.org/

I've used the "Lite" preset which strips all unncessary services and it works greate. NOTE: MediaPortal will require the "TASK SCHEDULER" service to be installed. So if you use the "Lite" preset, you need to "uncheck" (meaning do not remove) it.

Happy stripping :D

Ive made some custom automated installs with it, It works great.

And windows is alot faster after stripping everything out you dont need :)

Sounds interesting. I have already installed XP on my HTPC. Is there any way to exchange XP versions without loosing all data?

...or can I reinstall nLite XP on top of the old installation?
