Stuck at DirectX During StartUP (1 Viewer)

Hello,
Ihave been trying for a couple of days to get MP set up. I can work through the configuration ok based on an AVS Install Guide I found, but whenever I try to load MP, it gets hung. The "initialising DirectX" dialog is shown and it never goes any further. In Task Manager, the Splash Page is showing as not responding, while the Media Portal Task is responding normally.

I found several other threads where people had problems and tried their fixes (install Directx9, Use Plain Desktop Background), but I still get hung. Windows 7 has the latest patches installed.

I do not have MP set to start on Windows startup as it hangs every time.

I have attached an MP file and do hope it is the latest from the latest crash.

Have I provided enough information regarding this? I have googled and searched the site and have tried several potential resolves with no success. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Also, I updated the windows graphics driver from the gigabyte site. I am now getting hung at "Initializing Devices". No log file gets generated before my computer is rebooted manually.

Also, as previously mentioned, I have installed the streamedmp skin. I do have moving pictures available as a plug in under configuration, but it is not visible to select under "skins".

I had previously been trying to load one of the alternate splash screens, but no longer. The background on the hung screen is all blue.

Someone spare me the pain.....................

OK, I removed everything and reinstalled. I now have streamedmp visible in my skins section in configuration, so pretty sure it is installed correctly. I have no problem entering the configuration screens. However, when I boot MP now I can see the streamedmp startup screen and have the same "Initializing DirectX" dialog as before. ANY THOUGHTS?

According to log You are using "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter"
Change it to original drivers from intel and report back.

Thanks for the response! Earlier today I installed the update Intel VGA driver from the Gigabyte website. This didnt make any difference in the bootup problem. Any other ideas?

Also, as MP is hanging, how do I generate another log file for you to view?

Start MediaPortal watchdog
Run MP from it
Wait for MP Hangs
Switch to Watchdog by Alt-Tab
Generate new logs

Its still basic windows driver used
recheck it in system info.

I tried downloading this Download Locations
which is the Intel Core I5 video "Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows 7* and Windows Vista* (exe)".

When I run this, I am told that "Your system does not meet the minimum requirements".

I am definitely running an I5 650 processor, so I dont really have any idea how to proceed.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

I have no experience with new core i3/i5
So may be someone who own similar processor can help you.

You certainly had me on the right track-thank you!

I unzipped the driver files into a folder. Then I right clicked on the setup.exe file and clicked on compatability. This then rendered the file to be used with Win7.

The driver has now unloaded and MP opens normally.
