stuck trying to install on windows 7 x64 (1 Viewer)

A dialog box says I need to manually download wmp11-windowsxp-x86-ENU.exe.
First, I'm running on win 7 home premium x64, so why do I need an xp file ?
Second, I went to the microsoft website and download it, but it wouldn't download
Pressing the Continue button in dialog box just trys to have me browse for this non-existant , not needed file!
Can you help me over this hump?

Which version of MP are you trying to install, should be 1.2.3, (link homepage) which recognises WMP12 from Win7

I've got MP 1.2.3. I want to thank you for responding so quickly; I discovered that in tinkering, I turned off all of WMC and when I turned it back on,
my "problem" went away!
