After a selling my media centre on feebay, I decided to use my main pc in my home office to connect to my tv downstairs and use media portal on that. My new graphics card has three outputs. 2 x dvi and 1 x s-video. I was supplied a s-video to component adapter with the card. So today I connected up everything, and seem to have one or two problems.
Here is the first...
As you can see, the edges of the screen are missing! Now before you tell me the obvious, here are the settings on my pc at present...
If I try and change that setting, it goes back by itself!
Now when I go into Nvidia's settings...
This is the setting I have selected as I need to be able to see the desktop on both my main pc and the tv.
Now this is where things get quite annoying as I am unable to change the res on the setting for the tv. I can change the res on the monitor though, but I don't want to! ( I have a 22" widescreen monitor so 1680x1050 is what I want for that )
Here is the final setting, just to show that I have it set up for composite...
It's not just that, I also find that the videos I play from my pc to the tv and monitor judder every few seconds. However, this only happens when I view media portal in full screen mode! I noticed that the Microsoft Media Centre also has this problem too! Now I've installed a number of codecs etc, and I know that I have tried changing to a few, but nothing works. At the moment I am using ffdshow. I did read on this forum that someone said to change a setting on the 'general' option on the configuration program, which was something to do with using directx. But that option that he mentioned does not appear on my configuration program. Maybe, it's because I'm running Vista? I never had any of these problems in the past, mind you, I connected to the tv with standard pc vga connection and I was running xp media centre!
Can anyone help?
