Stuttering in MP, not in SageTV (1 Viewer)

MediaPortal Version: V0.2.3.0
Windows Version: Windows XP Pro
CPU Type: AMD Semperon 3000+
Memory: 512mb PC2700 Shared
Video Card: SiS Mirage (Built-In)

I have a laptop that I am trying to use to play back DVDs across my network which have been ripped to a Windows server. I have the NVIDIA PureVideo codecs installed. In SageTV (6.3 Trial), playback is smooth as expected. However, in MP I get stuttering/skipping on both audio and video.

I tried increasing the MP priority, but that didn't help. Changing the settings for the codec used did not help either.

I am trying to figure out why it works properly in SageTV and not Media Portal, with all other things being equal.

I think that this is your problem:-

Video Card: SiS Mirage (Built-In)

MediaPortal requires a video card that fully supports DirectX 9 - and I don't think that the SiS complies?
