    Hi there,

    to be prepared for the change to DVB-T2 I bought a Hauppauge QuadHD.
    Now those HD channels do stutter.

    Following facts are important for the situation:
    • When installalling the original driver the installer crashes and freezes the whole system. Anyway the drivers seem to be installed, because the card works.
    • Stuttering appears if the video stream rate exceeds 3.5 Mb/s (seen in the indicator of Titan skin)
    • SD channls work fine
    • Audio comes absolutey fine
    • once it comes to stutters the video is delayed behind the audio and does never get back in line
    • System load is at the lowest level (win task manager)
    I am quite sure that this is not a problem of the system hardware, I chose a SoC board that is dedicated for 4K playback.
    Has somebody an idea what it could be?

    Regards Fafnir

    @Stéphane Lenclud There are other applications than MediaPortal? ;-)
    Honestly speaking, I did not test any other application. Hauppauge WinTV crashes before installation is finished. Is there some application you'd suggest for testing reasons?

    @mm1352000 Herein attached the log files from server and MP.
    Gathering the log files with watchdog fails, please see the screenshot for the error message.
    Right some minutes before I started TV on an HD channel to maybe bring some information to the lastest files.

    Thanks for your support.

    What are your system specs - the logs just suggest it's struggling to keep up with decoding HEVC video (Full HD @ 50fps).

    Can you post some screen captures of your LAV Video and Audio decoder settings please (the main settings tab) ?

    @Owlsroost
    Please see my system specs here.
    Does the screenshot show what you asked for? I never ever did change anything in codec settings because I believe in default settingsif you don't know a thing...

    Unfortunately the J3160 doesnt support hardware acceleration of hevc.
    I am quite sure that this is not a problem of the system hardware,
    With my beebox 4K playback is only working with dual channel ram (2x 4GB) ->

    4K Support
    The only system in the segment that supports dual channel memory for supporting 4K video playback.
    *Dual channel memory is required for 4K video playback. Please install a pair of identical memory DIMMs.
    ->
    ASRock Beebox

    BTW, you should enable HW acceleration in LAV Video settings (Intel QuicjSync or DXVA2)

    I chose a SoC board that is dedicated for 4K playback.
    4K is not the same as HEVC.

    Hi Fafnir,
    when your Software Settings is OK. So I suspect your Intel GPU is not strong enough to decoding DVB-T2/Hevec.

    A "Intel Quad-Core Processor J3160"" have only round about 50% from a "AMD A8 7600"GPU, that have hard to work (50% CPU workload) whis H265 for software Decoding, our experience is that this is problebly to less similary to VP9 Codec.

    To Check this looking to your GPU Workload and maybe try to play some DVB-T2 HEVEC files whis MediaPortal.
    Example file you can find here

    OWLsroost -> Message #72

    Thank you to "OWLsroost"!

    Currently HEVEC Decoding in the most PC Software application is only work by Software decoding
    because the most Software currently do not support Hardware Decoding from HEVEC.
    So your HEVEC Hardware Decoding from your Intel GPU will not help.

    More Information to needet Hardware performing see:

    DVB-T2 HD?

    Entdecker -> Message: #25

    So I think you have to wait that VideoCodec and MediaPortal support HEVEC Hardware decoding.
    So I suspect it will be difficult whis your HW setting. Sorry for this assessment.

    best regards,

    You need to enable DXVA (hardware decode acceleration) in LAV Video decoder - set the 'Hardware Decoder to use:' to 'DXVA2 Native'

    (According to this - Celeron J3160 - Intel - WikiChip - the J3160 does support hardware HEVC decoding, but if you need to check for sure, DXVA Checker will tell you what is supported by your GPU - look at the 'Decoder Device' tab).
