Hi Simone, nice to see one of the devs back here now :))
I just uploaded my tswriter.log, concerns time with old and now patched tsreader.ax.
Do you need the tswriter.log or a rawdump / dumprawts.txt?

As the patch is not coming from a dev, better to avoid uploading those logs as they are confusing: not all devs read all threads...

We need all logs and a rawdump during which you experience the issue.

Ok, the logs are attached. But the dumpfile is about 2.5GB, and the stuttering appeared at the end of it. How can i cut it to the last 30 seconds?

These errors as above have really to do with poor signal strength. I had this problem also and change the position of the the coax cable on my splitter with less demping and so better signal and the errors and stuttering were gone on specific channels. I am using DVB-C digital cable tuner.

Hope this info will help you further. :)

I've been away for 2 weeks but just wanted to say that my issues are down to poor DVB-T signal.

But I have to use 19228 to have the poor quality signal watchable on MP, the newer versions which drop the packets cause too much interference and make the channels unwatchable. 19228 and before produce a fair bit of pixelation and the occasional sound glitch but it is not too bad.

As for me I am going to have a bit of a rewiring exercise and maybe a new roof antenna because I am in a fairly old building which has pretty crappy antenna fitted for analogue and even the booster I have in the attic is not helping matters at the moment. The main problem is that I have a very weak signal anyway, an unboosted indoor antenna cannot even get the signal, indoor with booster is very weak. So a perfect roof mounted with booster is probably all I can do (May even need to replace the old wiring with decent dual screened coax).

I would be in favour of an option in MP to either drop packets (Default) or not drop them and accept the errors.

    Hi All,

A friend showed me Mediaportal RC2 and i was impressed.
I have been using Vista media center for since the release and befor that I used MCE2005. Since MS does not address some important features, i decided to tryout Mediaportal.
With the RC2 release I have the same problem: shuttering Live TV due to bad cable signal/quality. (I am using a FireDTV-C card).
I removed some splitters and even placed the TVserver near the cable providers patch/enty point. Watching TV with the patched file worked now resonably but not 100% ok. I still experiance pixalation etc.
My point is that I never experianced issue due to bad cable signal with VMC. Even with 15 meters of cable and a bad splitter I still got stable digital TV reception. Does anybody have a clue how MS does this? Is there some extended error checking/fixing ?
I anybody can figure this out then we can happy watch digital using TVServer.

Today i let the SAT-Antenna checked and calibrated, Signal-level is 98-99%, signal-quality is 44-55%, and the stuttering still exists.

Do you still get those discontinuity errors in TsWriter.log? If yes then there are still errors in the signal (as the signal quality would point also).
