Hi all!

All SD channels from my provider plays back nicely, except one that stutters. I can't sort out what is so special with this channel. Can anyone help analysing the problem? Full log form MePo and a test stream (17s) is attached. I installed SAF 5.00 unlocked and uses MS-DTV as MPEG2 and h264 codec (both TV and Video). LTMA AAC and ffedshow audio filter as codecs.

The same setup play backs HD video and ripped DVDs without problem.

Regards,
PK

    Br,

Thanks for the feedback. Which codec do you suggest? I tried MS-DTV but can't really say that solved the issue.

    Hi.

Generally, there is no on right answer, but to try different codecs for both audio and video.

Another thing is to make sure that signal is okay.
This can checked in setuptv, manual control, select channel in question, timeshift.
Look signal quality and strength bars. This not 100% reliable info, because there is no standard to get that info. If you have normal stb or tv in same areial you can check that same problematic channel with it.

    Hi,

The signal is always 100% because the source is IPTV. All channels work in the original SetTopBox connected to the same switch.

How many codecs are there actually? I know there are many different codec packs, but in the end aren't all using the same codecs? I have tried:

    MS-DTV
    CyberLink 9/10
    ffdshow (dxva)
    MPC
    CoreAVC

I have also tried different combinations of audio and video codecs without luck.

    Hi.

Example file of Mikkes klubhus is not SD.

It is lower version of HD ie. 720x576(720i) Interlaced with audio LATM AAC.

AAC has own setting in codecs selection section.
Have you tried changing that ?.

    Thanks for the feedback.

In the TV part of the codec setup in MePo configuration, only the MONOGRAM AAC codec is available for LATM AAC. Are there any alternatives? I have installed SAF 5.00 unlocked.

Anyway, similar channels as Disney Playhouse play back stutter free. One other strange thing is the input FPS shown in the on-screen display (shift+1 aka "!") in MePo, the FPS Act: value varies from approx 17 to 52. When I analyse the ts buffer file with media info I get the values shown below, and the buffer file is clearly 25fps interlaced. Why isn't the input (Act) FPS in MePo overlay stable then?

Okay. Ill try to copy file into production system and see what i can figure out. In dev pc it worked okay.

    Edit:
works okay also in my Mp.
Is behavior same when you watch live-tv or recorded show from that channell?.

Im sratrting to wonder how are HDD arranged , like timeshifting folders, pagefile, recording folders. Are they all in same hdd?.

Is it same tuner for those working and "non working disney channell"?.

To be honest im starting get out of ideas :-(

    Br,

    Hi te3hpurp!

Just to sum up our Mp discussion so other people can join. The problem of micros stuttering audio om some channels are now confirmed. If other people would like to see (or hear) for them self, some sample ts streams can be downloaded from: Download recordings.zip from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

There are four streams in the zip file, and TVnorge.ts and Disnay playhouse.ts has this micro audio stuttering, the NRK3.ts and discovery channel.ts does playback perfect. All four channels (streams) uses AAC audio, and there are actually nothing different between the streams. So why two of them works perfect, and two fails is sort of a mystery. I have also tried several video cards (HD4250, HD5450, HD5570, HD5670 and GT240), without that having any effect on the audio stuttering. Same goes for different codecs, the behavior does stick regardless of codec.

te3hpurp has started a team internal discussion/thread and stated that the tsreader may be the component to blame. Have you got any feedback from other team members?

If anyone else like to join the bug-hunt, feel free :) Any input are welcome!

    Regards,
    PK
