Stuttering Video iPlayer (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I have been messing around with my HTPC (Revo 3600) setup today to try and get it to run 1080p videos ok.

Before changing things I had the SAF v4 beta filters and iPlayer was running ok in HD/SD. 1080p playback in other plugins was a no-go though.

I have now moved to the v8.1.0 K-Lite pack filters and 1080p h264 mkv videos run fine in Moving Pictures/TV Series using the Nvidia ION to do most of the work. However I now get really bad stuttering in all iPlayer videos via online videos and on the iplayer website. Trying to run HD iPlayer on the website uses 80-90% of CPU so no Nvidia acceleration being used for some reason.

I know it's probably a codec/splitter issue but can't find the cause.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Phil

Hi hoborg,

Thanks for the tip. However having now uninstalled k-lite and installed SAF6, online video streams from iplayer 4OD etc will not play at all. All it does is buffer then say unable to play stream.

I have re-installed OnlineVideos v1 but no change. Any idea how I can set up the codec for online video streams?

On a positive note, 1080p videos still work really nicely, possibly even better so all good there.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Phil

    PhilUK,

Does any content of OLV work? Can you post your log file.

If you go into the OnliveVideo plugin config screen, there is a codec tap. Go into that and test each type of video.

What codecs are in use for each type?

Try downloading the TV program, and then try playing the content via graph studio - what happens then?

Have you tried rer-egistering the URLsource splitter?

    Hi,

In the Codecs tab all apart from wmv seem to not be registered to a splitter/codec. Running the test for flv, mp4, avi and mov returns the value 'Could not render output pins of MediaPortal Url Source Filter'

I have attached the two main log files altered during the last run of MP.

I have only tried 4OD, BBC iPlayer and Apple Trailers so far. Not sure about other content.

How do I re-register the URLsource splitter?

    Thanks for any help,

    Phil

I had the revo linked up to my desktop screen rather than my tv to do the config so there was no sound device available (as normally use hdmi). plugging it all back into the tv has solved the video issue! thanks so much!

However i now have the issue of mkv files not playing lol! will take that to another sub-forum though as not an issue with online videos!

    Cheers,
    Phil
