The HTPC is plugged into a denon avr-1909 amp, which is connected to a sony KVL-40V4000 40" 1080p LCD. When i play a movie the TV displays the media type at 1080p/24 My screen resolution in windows 7 is 1080p at 24hertz. I play the mkv of avatar and the cpu hits 31% max, usually hovering round 24%. If I view the media information inside the mkv container I get the video info Source H264/AVC Resolution : 1920x1080 Framerate : 23.976 FPS Ive used xbmc too and that plays everything excellent too. In my case, it was just the fact I tried the SAF codec pack instead of setting up the htpc the way i setup my other htpc's.
