I've got a strange problem over here :

When i disable the "Show subtitle" option in the configuration tab some mkv files won't play anymore.
I get the error code : VIDEOCODEC : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC"
Simultanious in other moviefiles (WMV+SRT and MPG+ SRT) the embedded subtitles are correctly shown.

When i ENABLE the "Show subtitle" option in the configuration tab that same MKV file plays again without any problems ... however the SRT's in the WMV and MPEG movies are GONE :rolleyes:

I think there must be some kind of conflict somewere.

Anyone can help me out please ....:(

Goose has written an excellent FFDshow guide for MP

    http://users.vic.chariot.net.au/~mitreski/mediaportal codec guide v.2.pdf

From memory it doesnt use Enable Subs option in MP for FFdshow. It uses VobSub instead.

Ive used this guide a number of times and never had any probs with Subs

I use SAF these days though, which is also very good. Hoborg is a big fan of MKV so should be bulletproof for what you are doing if you are tired of battling with ffdshow.
