Subtitles in Subfolder not detected (1 Viewer)

The subtitle downloader works very fine for me. It downloads the subtitle for an episode and from that point the subtitle logo is shown in the episode view. And when I play the episode again tv series knows that I have that episode subtitle.

The only problem is that I had already downloaded a lot of subtitles for my series collection manually and put them in subfolders .\Subtitles for each season for a better view. When I do a complete scan of the hard drive the subtitles for manually downloaded episodes, that are in subfolders, are not detected. This means: no logo and another prompt by the subtitle downloader.

In search for a reason I put some subtitles in the same folder as the video file, did a rescan and voila, these files are detected perfectly. Just to be clear: When playing an episode the subitle gets displayed in any case! It is just about the detection of the file by the database, thus showing a logo and not being prompted again to download a subitle I already have.

So is this a bug, or can I somewhere specify a default folder for subitles like in the main configuration menu of MP?

Have you tried MP Configuration -> Videos -> Subtitle (tab) -> Subtitle paths ?

AW: Subtitles in Subfolder not detected

Hi seco, yes I have. But it doesn't seem to have an effect on the detection of the subtitles in TV Series. I think it's just a path where the internal media player looks for subtitles while playing.

TVSeries uses Mediaportal core features directly like the internal player and subtitles and settings for those, it doesn't have any own "subtitles detection", player or anything.

Hm, in moving pictures all my subtitles are in the same folder as the media files and all the subtitles were detected correctly. I'll try to put a movie subtitle in a subfolder and see if it is found. So this could be a Mediaportal problem I guess...

Yes, for player. But for the media info, it relies purely on the subtitles in media file directory.

jesseblue, wait until next week :) (SubCentral release). When TVSeries is set to get subtitles info forom SubCentral, SubCentral takes care of all subtitles directories.

I was under impression that this is purely a playback time issue and nothing to do with mediainfo and such...

AW: Subtitles in Subfolder not detected

Tried to reproduce this error in moving pictures:

    1) added a subtitle for a movie file manually
    2) sent the movie file back to the importer
    3) rescaned the file

When put in a subfolder subtitle wasn't detected (no logo), when put in the same directory as the movie it was detected. So SilentException seems to be right. I'll be looking forward to checking out SubCentral then.
