I talked with MisterD about this issue. He thinks that the attached patch is only hiding another (deeper) bug in code. I added a mantis 0002877: Issues with graph building for some analogue cards / TvAudio variants - MediaPortal Bugtracker, so he won't forget to look into this

As morpheus already mentioned, I believe that the patch is only hiding the real issue as it should return some different values in the detection part.
I have attached a patch that should fix the real issue. Please test and report back (Don't forget the logs)

I found that my ATi 650 Combo USB was now working but when I went to playback I had no audio. The same file plays back inside WMP and MPC-HC where it identifies the audio as Mpeg-1 I have a detailed progression posted on this thread with logs. It's at

where I'd asked to tune the S-Video Analog capture and I see several attempts to connect pins/filters... maybe this is related?
