    Hey,
I'm using SAF 4.0 with ffdshow. I've got a 5.1 surround system (configured like in screenshot shown). My prolem is, that I get at the most videos (e.g. mkv videos, 5.1. sound checked with "media info") only stereosound (also at tv). But if I'm whatching a DVD 5.1 sound works.

    I've attached a few screenshots.

    Hi Cilla,
I just have a number of questions here. I hope you bump into your solution through them.

-Can you post a screen shot of the 'output' tab in ffdshow?

-Have you enabled/disabled ffdshow audio decoder in the MediaPortal Configuration tab Video/TV/DVD > Post processings?
To enable this postprocess, double click it in the list of availables (ffdshow audiodecoder) and it apears in the top window. Then tick it. You can also configure the thing from here.

-During SAF4 installation, did you reply Yes or No to the question about spdif passthrough?

-You can try disabling/unticking the mixer in FFDShow. If the source is 5.1 you dont need to mix it.

-In windows audio setup, what is your default audio device? SPDIF or Analogue? You can also force MP to use the analogue speaker output in the codec tabs you are showing already.

-What codec are you using in the DVD section. Its working there, maybe you can copy those codecs to TV/Video tabs.

Play your file in MePo and use Graphstudio to connect to MePo graph. Each filter have IN and OUT pin. Double click on filter, audio - you can see if source is 5.1 or 2.0. Track down the problem from splitter to audio renderer where is IN 5.1 change to 2.0 OUT.
