hi all !

i was using meedio for a while and just installed media portal recently.
First of all : congratulations ! this soft is just great and does a lot... i'm really impressed.

But i have a problem:
my htpc is connected to a simple TV(4/3) and a videoprojector (16/9).
I usually use the TV when i'm listening to music or checking weather... but i switch to the videoprojector when i want to watch a DVD.
with meedio+ATI drivers, i could switch screens and meedio adapted imidiately its size.

it seems that MP needs a specific skin for each resolution... and so i cannot switch from my TV to my videoprojector... does anyone knows a way to do this ?

thanks !

MediaPortal Version: 2.0.4

Finally i found a clean solution :
in 'My programs', i created 2 applications : 'My Projo' and 'My TV'

each of them launches a batch file in hidden mode, which itself :
- stops MP
- launches an ATI tool to switch video profile (screen output and resolution)
- starts again MP

it works like a charm !

Can you send me the batch files and inform me wich ATI tool you are using?
I have the same problem. Now I am switching resolution by remote, but I manually have to stop and start MP.

Hi !

i am using ati catalyst control center, which enables you to create 'profiles' that you can launch thought desktop shortcuts.

the batch files are very simple :

=====
ECHO off

set MP_PATH=D:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

echo using mediaportal path : %MP_PATH%

Rem : killing mediaportal main process
TASKKILL /F /IM "mediaportal.exe"

Rem : Change outout device
<copy the command found in the desktop shortcut created by ATI profiler>

Rem : Restart Mediaportal
CHDIR /D %MP_PATH%
mediaportal.exe
================

Thanks for the tips! Got me on the right path. On my win 7 64bit I did this:

Installed MyPrograms: MEDIAPORTAL - MyPrograms
I got this program: HRC – HotKey Resolution Changer | funk.eu...hey, it's just me... and put it in the folder C:\Users\superadmin\Desktop\Resolution\

Then did BAT files like Singer36:

change_to_4-3.bat
Code:
rem ECHO off
set MP_PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\
echo using mediaportal path : %MP_PATH%
Rem : killing mediaportal main process
TASKKILL /F /IM "mediaportal.exe"
Rem : Change resolution
start C:\Users\superadmin\Desktop\Resolution\HRC.exe R2
Rem : Restart Mediaportal
timeout /2
CHDIR %MP_PATH%
start mediaportal.exe
change_to_16-9.bat
Code:
rem ECHO off
set MP_PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\
echo using mediaportal path : %MP_PATH%
Rem : killing mediaportal main process
TASKKILL /F /IM "mediaportal.exe"
Rem : Change resolution
start C:\Users\superadmin\Desktop\Resolution\HRC.exe R1
Rem : Restart Mediaportal
timeout /2
CHDIR %MP_PATH%
start mediaportal.exe
I go to MediaPortal Configuration - Plugins - My Programs - Add Child - Application Launcher

There I add two application launchers to, eg one called "Change to 16:9" that points to "C:\Users\superadmin\Desktop\Resolution\change_to_16-9.bat" and a similar one for 4:3
