Switch on Setop-Box via IRBlaster (1 Viewer)

Hy,
is it possible that MP switches on my Setop-Box via the Hauppauge IRBlaster and turns it off again?
I got the Blaster working, but when the Box is in Standby-Mode the sending of the numbers doesn't affect anything and I have to switch the box on before.

Is this possible?

I am using a master/slave power supply for the STB (and for the TV set and the 5.1 booster). Thus it get's switched on whenever I switch on my PC.

that's cheap and works perfect.

Thanks for your answer, but this is not a solution for me: My HTPC runs all the time but the setopbox is only used when watching tv or recording something.
The problem is not so much the watching of live-tv but the recording: Sometimes I forget to switch on the Setopbox and only record a black screen for some hours.
