    Hi All,

I recently purchased a new server to act as a dedicated tv-server, and I was wondering what can I uninstall from my previously SingleSeat pc?

I can obviously loose the tvserver, but do I still need Mysql? And maybe some more...

Edit: So far I've discovered that after stopping the tvservice and sql-service everything still works, so I guess I can uninstall those safely

Off the top of my head, that is all you can disable on the client. I think any other updates that are installed at the same times are either required for the front end as well as the back end or not worth uninstalling anyway (something else might need those same updates).

I have the same situation. I just bought a new machine to be my server and I want to make my old client/server into just a client now. How can I uninstall just the TV Service? And have you discovered anything else that needs to be changed (other than the database server)?

    Any help/advice is appreciated.

    Greg

I know that you can safely uninstall mysql and the tvservice, and I think (but sadly my motherboard died on me, so I'm not that far yet) it's somehow possible to copy/paste the settings to the server with some plugin/tool, so that you don't have to scan for channels, naming/sorting them all over again

Edit: uninstall tvservice: just go to the software uninstallation part of the control panel, but it may be a good idea to first check if there's a possibility to move your settings before you uninstall the tvservice

Let me know if and how this settings-moving thing works! Might need that when I have a new motherboard...

Uninstalling the TV service through control panel looks like it uninstalls the TV server and the TV client. Does it only remove the server portion?

for the settings i've found this. Don't have any experience with it, but it might be what I (and probably you) are looking for
