switching sorting order (1 Viewer)

so far the only time i have noticed the ability to choose a sorting order is when you first add the series, this is then used as the order to match up your files to the database. but what if i'd like tv-series to order the episodes in a different order then my files, say i hate grouping things by season and i'd rather see them in absolute or visa verse.

is there a way to change the displayed order to be a different style of ordering then the matching order.

and on a somewhat related note, how can i use the match episodes by absolute order and handle specials correctly. how should i arrange my files and what needs to be done on theTVDB. currertly i have them in an "absolute 0" folder and there are no absolute numberings on theTVDB

thetvdb.com does support absolute numbering it just may not be filled in for a particular series you are interested in. Mostly anime series have had their absolute number fields filled in. For example Monster Rancher (http://thetvdb.com/index.php?tab=seasonall&id=72858&lid=7&order=absolute) has this order filled in. Feel free to enter this order for any additional series you need the absolute order for.

its funny you mentioned Monster Rancher as i was the one to input the absolute numbers.

while i thank you for your help, you misread my post. theTVDB side works great. but i want to be able to resort my episodes in tv-series base off of aired, DVD, or Absolute. this is beyond matching with theTVDB.

i have a show the is store in absolute format on my HD, it would be nice if i could ,inside tv-series, resort the epsiodes by any order that the show supports without messing up the absolute online matching.

Hmm, that would nice, I agree. The local db is not designed with that im mind though unfortunatly, so I don't think it would be easy to patch on. You can kind of get an absolute/dvd listing order by creating extra views and stuff, but it's not a very nice solution.
