With all respect to the designer of the original MediaPortal logo, I'm thinking this one could be a great candidate for a new one or perhaps logo contest might be in order. I for one would be happy to contribute $ for a winning prize.

Here's a thought: with the shading effect you have on it, with a little animation it could be used to replace the round thing that appears on screen when MP is "thinking".

That sounds great.

I am still working on a skin that meets my demands. It will be a minimalistic skin without fanart and with a normal readibilty. imo the most skins rely to much on backdrops and to little on usability on a daily base.
I hope that i can show it someday.

Do you have the logo in vector format or a much larger psd format? And if so, would you be willing to share? I'd love to use it in my build.

I found it inside the file he posted.
The .psd has vector format inside
Open with photoshop, change to any size you want and select the 'shape 22 copy'. That shape is what you want.

You've posted an amazing logo design!
After downloading your .psd i started working on it!
I took some jaggies off the vector image and moved some anchor points so that the small spaces are more even.

After some photoshoppin' it now looks like the attachment
Maybe i'll go further into making it a splashscreen

Is it okay to use your logo or part of it for everyone?

Haha Flip glad you liked it.
You're right, this version had some minor vector flaws. In my later versions they were corrected.

I see what you did with the design. Keep in mind that the style of the logo demands a certain look & feel. Personally I would never use the logo in the way you did because the chrome does not fit the look & feel I had in mind. But... thats just my opinion.
And since this is an open source logo you are free to do with it what you want. As long as it fits your needs and your skin its okay.
