Hi All I am new to this forum, and I will sincerely appreciate any assistance in getting my MP-TV server up and running,
I have already spent 10 hrs trying to figure out the issue but with no avail.
My system/progress made so far, follow MP installing MP guide as I go alone
CPU Intel Xeon 2.39Ghz (2 Processors)
TV Card TBS quad 6985
I downloaded/installed MP1.8 Final
I run the latest software for TBS
MP was able to Identified TBS 4 tuners titled A to D
but when i search for channels I see message in red no signal
No matter how I configured MP and scan for channels it results no channel found,
However when I connect the dish cable to the back of my FTA box I can scan for all FTA on 97 west Galaxy 19, with no issue.
Appreciate your support
Thanks

    Hello and welcome :)

I'll get straight to the point...
What brand/model of LNB do you have on your satellite dish? In particular, what is the local oscillator frequency (LOF)? 10750 MHz, 11250 MHz...???
Also, what settings are you using when you scan? A screenshot (picture) would be helpful.

    Regards,
    mm

Hi Thanks for your respond quick turnaround
To be honest not sure what brand, I am new to this, all I try to ensure is moving away from Dream Link box to a server system-
I had a local installer to put up the dish connected to DVB receiver (dreamlink) and every thing works fine, could you advice how to determine the model,
also under the scanning setting I am not sure what all these mean, however with your guidance I can get it to work, as I have in past managed to configured applications like media browser, XBMC/Kodi and plex with no assistance.
    Appreciate your support.

    No problem. :)

I'm primarily interested in the LNB's LOF. If you knew the brand/model of LNB then I could have looked up the LOF on the vendor's website. That's the only reason I asked for the brand/model.
If I were you I would call the local installer and ask: "what is the local oscillator frequency (LOF) of the LNB you installed on my dish?".
Otherwise, if you were able to dig into the settings of the set top box (Dreamlink) you'd probably find the details somewhere in there.
Alternatively, you could climb up on your roof and check for any identifying labels etc. on the LNB itself.

also under the scanning setting I am not sure what all these mean, however with your guidance I can get it to work, as I have in past managed to configured applications like media browser, XBMC/Kodi and plex with no assistance.
Yeah, setting up satellite reception is quite different to setting up other media applications. There are a few pieces of really important information - like the satellites you have access to, the LNB LOF(s) - that you must have. Without these, you won't be able to scan in channels.

Thanks for the advice-let me establish the LNB type and I shall get back you. Any suggestion the type of LNB I should be using if what I have currently is not appropriate for this purpose?

    Okay, no problem. :)

Oh, the LNB you have is fine, I'm sure. The key to successfully pulling in your channels is to select the LNB type ("band") setting value that matches the actual LNB the installer mounted on your dish. As long as they match everything will work fine. If they don't match then you'll get "no signal" and "no channels found" messages.

[edit: So to be clear, we simply need to know what LNB you have so that we can select the correct settings for scanning.]

Sorry I could go out side to determine LNB type weather here is on the minus, extremely cool.
I am not sure if this would help -on the Dish Setting I have these following:
    Satellite =97.0w galaxy 19/k
    LNB Power=On
    LNB Type=Single
    LNB Frequency =10.750
    LNB 22KHz=off
    DisEqc SW1.0=4
    DisEqc SW1.1=off
    Legacy SW=off

I have to mention that I have 3 dishes
First dish dedicated to 97 west, only have one LNB
Two other dishes each have 2 LNB's on each
    so in total I have 5 LNB's
I hope I have not complicate issues, I am only concern with first dish 97 west.
Let me know if this info helps!
    Thanks for your assistance

    Ahhh, that helps! :)
This is the info I was looking for:
    LNB Frequency =10.750

So, the LNB's LOF is 10750 MHz (10.75 GHz).
The correct value to use in the TV Server "band" setting for that LNB would be "Circular".

Two other dishes each have 2 LNB's on each
    so in total I have 5 LNB's
I hope I have not complicate issues, I am only concern with first dish 97 west.
If those other dishes are not connected to the same Dreamlink set top box then we don't have to worry about them. Otherwise we'd need to know the correct DiSEqC and/or 22 kHz tone switch settings to use to select the 97W dish.

All the dishes are connected to a switch, i with a single cable out of it, then connected to the DVD box, "yes" I can confirm that all the dishes feeds the box, does that create a complications?
Let me research the your last request further and keep you posted shortly.

    Unfortunately yes.

So, the first thing you'll need to do is ensure you install the patch from here:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ther-improvements.103276/page-51#post-1051247

That patch enables (among other things) DiSEqC switch support for TBS tuners.
    Install instructions:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Go to the "manual control" section.
    3. Click "stop service".
    4. Close TV Server configuration.
    5. Download the patch from -->here<--.
    6. Open Windows Explorer.
    7. Navigate to the TV Server install directory (default c:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server).
    8. Take a backup of TVLibrary.dll and TvLibrary.Interfaces.dll, just in case.
    9. Download and extract the three files in "1.6 patch.rar" into the TV Server install directory, replacing TVLibrary.dll and TvLibrary.Interfaces.dll (TbsCIapi.dll is new; added by the patch).
    10. Open TV Server configuration (click "yes" to start the TV service).

I suppose that based on this information:
    LNB 22KHz=off
    DisEqc SW1.0=4
    DisEqc SW1.1=off
    Legacy SW=off

...the correct DiSEqC setting for you to use is level 1 BB (which is DiSEqC 1.0 port D/4).
