I'm experiencing tearing problem on my ASUS P5E-VM HDMI. I use VGA connection cause HDMI doesn't work at the moment (trying to find the problem). On VGA I have tearing. There is no "exclusive directx mode" option in the General configuration tab. What can i do to solve tearing problem on this integrated intel video?

The exclusive DX9 mode is in the DirectShow options further down in the config screen. Not under "general"

For your HDMI connection, you may have to turn this on in the BIOS settings.

Make sure drivers are correctly installed, and any ? showing in device manager.

HDMI is enabled. I have 2 monitors in windows and I can activate second one. And choose resolution. But there is now picture on the screen on HDMI input My display is Pioneer PDP-427XA and user manual says that PC signals are not supported over HDMI. But other people say that it works perfect with ATI video cards.

About tearing: in DirectShow Filter Control -> Video Mixing Renderer 9 Settings -> Use VMR 9 exclusive mode is enabled. But it does't solve the problem. How can I check if MP really uses exclusive mode?

You could try removing the VGA cable and rebooting with Only HDMI. this may trigger it to show up.

As for tearing, what codecs are you using and what video material are you trying to watch

You would also need your resolution from your graphics card set at 720 HD for hdmi, just look at a few reviews on this and yes pc connects via vga.

Made with Pioneer 7th Generation technology, this TV supports resolution up to 1024 x 768 pixels and supports 720p display format.

Above from one review, same pc resolution as my philips hdtv, which i actually run over hdmi at 1280 x 768, if i drop down to 720, get oval circles and blurred text, most probably, due to the tv's own inbuilt stretch facility.

HDCP has been known to stop dual output's from one TV card, so charl181 comment may be valid.

Worth a try.
