The Technotrend support that I am working on is limited the Technotrend Premium line of cards. Technotrend budget cards are supported through BDA drivers and therefor use the BDA tuning in MP. Looks like it might be a general diseqc problem with the BDA tuning, either that or the TT BDA drivers do not support diseqc commands.

    Hallo Draktheas,

    thank you for anwsering.

I think it´s not a BDA driver problem couse, xpMCE use the same driver without any problems.

It´s look that i have to get the source code of MP and take the time to start debugging the promblem by my self.

There was only one post about my topic of a user with the same problem - would be interresting how many user have the same problem too

Thanks for pointing that out as that was still an issue in the global DiSEqC implementation. I've fixed that now in current SVN. FWIW, this should also fix the general BDA implementation (based on just the InputRange from 1-4).

I've tested this with the vendor specific DiSEqC implementation for both the FireDTV-S and SkyStar2 (with more than 2 LNB's this time) and it works for those cards.

You could try it again with MediaPortal-svn--08-07-2006--19-54-Rev9795.exe or later, but since your previous scan on LNB2 resulted in no signal I don't think much has changed since then for you.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

    for me,

    it's the same problem:

    LNB1: Hotbird 13
    LNB2: astra 19,2

I tried diseqc simple A/B and tried diseqc level 1 A/A end B/A

Switching doesn't work. I use technotrend's latest BDA driver with a budget 1500S card.

when using the tt media center app or myTheatre with the same BDA driver, switching LNB's works just fine.

I tried all suggestions on the forum, including latest SVN builds, but I can't get switching to work.

When the last viewed channel in tt-media center or myTheater is LNB2 (Astra) I can scan the Astra transponders in Media portal, else only LNB1 is available (hotbird).

What is the status on this issue? Is there anyone who has Technotrend budget 1500S working with diseqc switch?

I am using a Terratec card Cinergy 1200-S.
Disecq works fine with Terratec soft and BDA drivers. Same drivers with MP give same problem as stated above: only LNB one is scanned.

    Hi,

This is because DiSEqC is not supported for your Terratec, unless someone writes support for this. Remember that the BDA specification is very weak when it comes to LNB switches, so vendors have written their own implementations for it. The downside: every card needs specific support for it.

If no specific DiSEqC support is available in MP for your card, then MP will use the "general" BDA implementation which obviously isn't sufficient (or even supported at all) for most DVB-S cards. Currently the only cards I can confirm to work with DiSEqC are FireDTV-S and the Skystar 2. AFAIK TechnoTrend is still WIP.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

Thanks for the explanation. Do you know if there is a plan to add Disecq support to more cards ? What is the process to suggest a new card for the Disecq support ?

    Hi,

Adding support for different cards is impossible, unless the vendor has released some example code to control their tvcard or make their SDK available to the team. Then still someone has to step up and implement it in MP of course. Without the necessary hardware (tvcard, switch and multi-lnb dish) it's difficult to implement it.

    Kind regards,
    Michel
