In fact, Draktheas wanted to re-write the MPSA not specifically for TTPremium but for a particular DVB specification use by US sat providers.

For European users It's not relevant.

to complete my diags could you send a MP log (just the card detection part if exist)

to reflect my nick in the mirror wpp would had be more exact ;)

I tried this:

WinXP SP2 with latest updates
Technotrend 2.19c drivers (tried with 2.19, didn't work)
MP 0.2.0.0.
Latest SVN of 0.2.0.1.
Applied the patch by overwriting Configuration.exe and TVcapture.dll
regsvr32 /s TTPremiumSource.ax (as mentioned in TT Thread started by Drak).

If you don't do regsvr32 then you get error:Unable to render graph.

Ran Configuration.exe
Television > Capture Cards > Add
Selected WDM based Technotrend. Wait, wait and wait a while more.
Then Autotune tab shows up. If this is not the case. Hit OK in the 'Edit TV card properties' screen. Select your WDM Technotrend and click Edit. It should be there.

I can scan for channels, but nothing is found, signal strength is poor and signal quality is 0. Maybe I can add some channels manually but didn't find all the necessary PID's, PMT etc info for it. Have to find some more stuff.

Hope you can something with this!

Hi all,

first Thanks a lot MBB and Draktheas four your work!!!!!



I also tested mbb's patch with the following summary:

Installed MP 2.0.0 and the latest svn (30.10.06 - rev 11412)
Patched the TVcapure.dll and Configuration.exe
regsvr32 "TTPremiumSource.ax"

I could add the Card and had the "AutoTune" Tab :D
But, like Griffon, i did not find any channels
So, i tried to add a channel manually => OK
Starting MP brings the error "Could not initialize Com libary"
Clicking"OK" => MP comes up
Activating the TV function brings the error "unable to connect MPG2pin"

Griffon: I got my dvb data from a scan with the original TT software, which are stored in "DigitalTV-c.lst" or "DigitalTV-s.lst", if you have an dvb-s card, in the TT-Premium folder.

I'll have a look at those files in the original software of Technotrend. And test it again tonight. But I have this idea it will have the same MPG2Pin error you recieve. ;)

I think it's great you are testing with us!

MBB:
It seems that the graph isn't right, or something. In WinSTB and ProgDVB for example, you can edit graphs with GraphEdit. There are even standard graphs to look at in these programs. Maybe it's an idea to have a look at those TTPremium graphs and help you by resolving the problem. If you like I can have a look and attach a screenshot or something if you think it is any help to you!

Oh, and you asked for logs before you released your patch, but there isn't anything mentioned in the logs about detecting of the card (just said something like: no cards detected...)

About the MPSA rewrite, I think it would be great for all US members to finally add support for them too! I don't know what happened that Drak isn't responding anymore, but for this project and for all US members it would be nice to find him and ask him to release the code.

Is it possible for you to test with us?

This is also an invite for all others following the development/implementation of TTPremium: test, test, test!

MBB is doing a great job, so he deserves a bunch of dedicated TTpremium testers!


Btw, in the future I will add log-files just like DoubleHeliX did ;)

Unfortunately, I don’t see with your logs a evident solution to your new issues.

Without a TTPremium to debug the code step by step, I'm afraid to be disarm to help you more.

I hope that somebody will continue to work on it.

Update testing

Hi mbb,

Yeah, your totally right, we are a bit (too) overwhelmed. But this is a feature people asked for about 1,5/2 years now. And it would be so great having support for it! I appreciate it so much you gave us this start.

So I understand that you need more logfiles and I for myself can't stand it when we are on a dead end and can't do anything because the logs don't say much!

I began testing and found some nice results and some more questions.

I added these questions on the end, so you don't have to read all of the text below!

TEST-STORY:
I searched the internet for some answers and of course the MP forum. Searched for the "MPG2PIN" error and "COM library" error (also equivalents like MPEG2 etc) and found this post:

I continued testing and tried to get at the point where DoubleHeliX and Strawberry were yesterday. Therefore I manually added a channel (german ARD on Astra 1G in this case = FTA) with configuration.exe. I assigned it to the TTPremium card, made a channelgroup 'Test1' and also assigned the channel to this group.

Then I started MP, got the "COM library" error, clicked ok and went to TV. I clicked button Channel and nothing happened. So: NO "MPG2PIN" error.
Then went to Settings and started the wizard and showed the TTPremium card, selected a satellite and search for channels began. After about 3 seconds it was done, no channels found. Finished the wizard, went back to TV function, clicked Channel again. Now it says: 'Failed to start TV'. But again, no "MPG2PIN" error.
Then I went to Channelgroups. But there were non. Why? I added 'Test1' with configuration.exe.

So back to the found thread, user Happytalk is having a similar problem and he mentioned TVDatabaseV21.db3 (1 month ago). So I found he SQLLite editor in de docs-folder of MP. Opened this db and found some tables. Most of them are empty. Is this database still used in current 0.2.0.0. SVN? If yes, there is no TV-card info in it (idCard), neither are channels or groups. And if ending MP or configuration.exe (MP Setup) this db gets the current date/time in the 'last changed on' field in the properties of the file. Conclusion: MP wants info from it. Am I right?

When starting configuration.exe again, it shows me all the correct settings of the card and channels, so it is stored somewhere, but can MP access this too?

So I think this TVDatabaseV21.db3 has to be filled with configuration.exe, but it isn't. Why else is MP not seeing the TTPremium card and do I have to follow the wizard (each time I start MP, it doesn't save anything too!) and why doesn't it see the channel I assigned and channelgroup?

I allready deleted the db (maybe it was corrupted?) and checked all settings again in configuration.exe and MP, db was created again, but still no effect.

For the "COM library" error: User Happytalk disabled the option 'use card for recording' in configuration.exe. Guess what, started MP, didn't have the error anymore! (Later after some not documented hacking ;), it came back though...). Conclusion: Maybe this error has something to do with recording?

Next, why don't I get the MPG2PIN error like DoubleHeliX and Strawberry? I think this has something to do with TTPremiumsource.ax. I registered this thing like this:
Start > Run>
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\Mediaportal\TTPremiumsource.ax"

After that there is a message it registered OK (if you use /s option, this message is not shown). DoubleHeliX and Strawberry: did you do this too? If not, what do you get if you register it like above (so include the installpath of your MP install!).
Still recieving MPG2PIN error?

Last: I found some (big, some over 400kb) log-files after all doing this, in the log-folder:
-error.log
-MediaPortal.log
-vmr9.log
-and 2 or 3 more.

I will add these logs to this thread tonight (haven't access to it now), there are some nice errors in it!

There are still some things we can investigate:
Why is the Auto-tune not working correct in configuration.exe? Are the LNB/KU-band settings etc. right?
I didn't have time to test this, but maybe we can work something out after answering the following questions.


Questions:

to mbb:
- Is TVDatabaseV21.db3 still in use. If yes, there is no info in it for the TTPremium card, neither are channellistings. Does this have to do with configuration.exe?
- Could you have a look at the log-files after I added them here tonight (in about 8 hours from now) and maybe help us out?

to DoubleHelix, Strawberry (and others):

- Are you using TT drivers 2.19c.
- Did you assign the manually added channel to the card and to a channelgroup?
- How did you register TTPremiumsource.ax and what happens if you try it like above? Still getting MPG2PIN error?
- What happens if you disable 'use card for recording' in configuration.exe? Still getting COM library error?

Yes, lots of questions, but it's a new start to get us on the road again.

TTPremium detection is now included in svn

anybody with time and patience can start to debug the source now
just basic C "something" skill is required.

I started like that 1 year ago the dev in MP to support my Technisat Cablestar ;)

I'm simply to busy for now to do more (support of Cablestar/Airstar in new TV Engine and MDApi project and ... life ;))
