    Hello!
I enabled SubtitleDownloader and there are subtitles available now, i can enable them during video playback. So far so good.. but in the Episode List it still shows "no subtitles" as logo. Why? There are subtitles available now.. do i need to recheck mediainfo in TV Series configuration?
    Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same problem. I can d/l subtitles just fine and they are shown in the show but the icon "Subtitles" does not appear. Perhaps this is because recent versions started adding "English" to the end of the subtitles, so the subs don't have exact same names now, I'm not sure, I didn't check.

This is a known issue which is already in the issue tracker.

Issue 445 - mptvseries - Refresh subtitles field when done downloading subtitles - Project Hosting on Google Code

But since i updated to the latest version i have a problem:

Whenever i download a subtitle for a certain episode,".English" is automatically appended to the end of the filename of the subtitle (e.g. Rubicon.S01E02.The.First.Day.of.School.HDTV.XviD-FQM.[VTV].English.srt).

The problem is that because of that whenever i want to play an episode i get the subtitle download dialogue even though i already have downloadad the subtitle. But if i manually rename the subtitle fielname (to Rubicon.S01E02.The.First.Day.of.School.HDTV.XviD-FQM.[VTV].srt) the subtitle download menu is not presented and playback is started immediately.

Is there any way to diable putting language appendix to the filename or at least have an option to disable it (i only download english subtitles anyway)?
    .

Hey there ... still having difficulties with the above problem.. Any ideas please?

This really sounds a bug to me.

Solution is not to work around it with renaming the subtitle while because the download is working as it should. Instead you should provide all your (subtitle related) settings, versions of components (Mediaportal, TVSeries, SubtitleDownloader etc.) to help us track down the actual problem.

Yeah ... but where can i see those settings? It is clearly something to do with the MyTvSeries - the subtitle dowloader plugin. I don't know where to see, change or export any of related settings... but please let me know what i should post and i'll get it.

    Kind regards!

    EDIT:

Im begining to think it is a FEATURE:
    Version info:
    v2.0 - 20.4.2010
    - Fixed TVSubtitles search which was broken due site changes
    - Downloaded subtitles are now named like "VideoFileName.Language.extension", e.g. Heroes.S04E16.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION.English.srt

    - Improved dynamic loading of downloaders and error catching

Seems like a description of a similar problem but identical source:

Or perhaps this is just the same old Issue 445 - mptvseries - Refresh subtitles field when done downloading subtitles
    Will check and report.

But still, it would be nice, to have an option to add or remove extension in downloaded subtitle filenames.

But what if you have multiple language subtitles.. then u need some extensions to identify them.

    TRIROG,

Your original problem is caused by bug 445 - mptvseries - Refresh subtitles field when done downloading subtitles

After the issue has been fixed, you should have no problems. As a workaround you can manually update the mediainfo for the episode you downloaded the subtitles for.

    OK...
    download new episode,
    hit play in MP,
    SUbtitled download dialogue comes up,
    Select download subtitle,
Subtitle download complete and succesful dialogue appears.
    exit MP
    restart MP
    select the new episode
    hit play
The damn subtitle download dialogue still comes up-(shouldn't restart of MP sort that out?)

    Another AND WORKING way:
    download new episode,
    hit play in MP,
    SUbtitled download dialogue comes up,
    Select download subtitle,
Subtitle download complete and succesful dialogue appears.
go to epxlorer and remove filename language extension
    return to MP
    hit play
    No download subtitile dialogue
    Works like a charm ...

So it seems that the problem is the subtitle language extension in filename.

So why not simply enable the user to choose wether he wishes to append the language extension to the subtitle filename or not.

Did you even read what I wrote in my previous posts? I said it has nothing to do with the filename extension and won't be fixed by a workaround option or anything. I gave you solution which apparently from steps above, you haven't tried.

You need to update the mediainfo manually for the episode in the episode context menu -> Actions after you have downloaded the subtitles. This is until the bug 445 has been fixed and fixed version released.

Another solution is to go TVSeries Configuration -> Extras -> Subtitles and DISABLE "Suggest subtitles download on play action if not present"
