    Hi,
Have any of you tested with leaving the old database folder (0.2RC2) & contents, when installing & running the first setup wizard of 0.2RC3 & what was the results?

Can't say I have. What i have done though is a complete reinstall of Windows. Using RC4 with 04-20-2006--10-30 SVN nothing has changed. As soon as the wizard needs to write to a databse it crashes.

I'll try to get my hand of a Swedish version & do a test, are you using normal Swedish Win XP pro, sp2 full installation (&all updates), or something/anything else specific?

Because of work I don't have time before this weekend, but early next week it should be possible.

A standard Swedish XP Pro with sp1 slipstreamed, sp2 and all updates from windows update applied. Apart from just the updates, wmp10, .net 1.1 (sp1 with ASP hotfix and languagepack) and .net 2.0 (with languagepack) are also installed.

Confirmed. Just tried to install on a Swedish XP SP2 + all updates etc., and the config wizards thingy makes it crash. However, I can also just ignore the error message and complete the setup.

I can confirm the same crash on my swedish XP Pro with SP2 and .NET 2.0 using RC4

I also get this problem with XP Professional Service Pack 2 Swedish and .NET 2.0 (forcefully installed by the installer...). This is an almost clean Dell installation.

    Hi,
This is a sqllite problem & with the new TV Engine & MP 0.3 that will change, so it will probably use another database .

To work around it just press next in the first time wizard all the time until you reach finish, if you get a error window just move it away, do not click ok/cancel in that.

After this setup it's finish open MP Setup & configure MediaPortal there. For auto tuning channels go to Television -> Capture Cards -> Your tuner card(s) & edit & auto tune.

Ok, thanks for that. I eventually found out how to configure most stuff as you described but I ran into a separate TV tuner issue. (Posted in another thread.)

I don't mean to come off as bold or anything but if I'd written that code I'd release a patch for it since it appears to be a problem for many people with a non-english version of XP when running the installer. Sqllite's problem with unicode is well known though so I share your grief with it.
