    Hi,

(I don't sure this post is right section of the forum, so sorry.)

I have missed the vertical menus form home of the new default skin so I have created a theme for me. sample.PNG

If anybody want to test it follow the setup:

    1. Extract the themes.zip to the %ProgramData%\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\DefaultWide\Themes\ dir
    2. Extract the media.zip to the %ProgramData%\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\DefaultWide\Media\
    3. Setup the skint to use the new theme. setup.PNG
    Enjoy!

When creating a theme you don't need to overwrite the original skins media images you can package all in one zip

    eg.

    \skin\DefaultWide\Themes\Vertical Home\Theme.xml
    \skin\DefaultWide\Themes\Vertical Home\myHome.xml
    \skin\DefaultWide\Themes\Vertical Home\Media\Basic_focus.png
    \skin\DefaultWide\Themes\Vertical Home\Media\Basic_nofocus.png
    ...

the \skin\DefaultWide\Themes\Vertical Home\Media\Basic_focus.png from your theme will take prefence over \skin\DefaultWide\Media\Basic_focus.png

any images that are not found in the "themes\vertical home\media" folder will default to the "\default wide\media" folder :D

Oh fabulous - I thought I was the only one that didn't want Nintendo Wii boxes around the place!

Vertical menus made so much more sense to me.

HUGE thanks for this, I wil be dowloading this for sure as soon as I get home. It will go on my netbook room clients and I'll get back to a nice, visually calmer, uncluttered interface.

I will provide a theme if the final 1.3 is out.

This is great, I like the unambiguous power off buttons (and not hidden).

Only odd thing (and not an issue) is that I'm sure all I did was to copy over the basic Home and it all seemed to work.

The theme.xml just has the (graphically talented Catavolt) name inside and there are already button images.

Not a complaint but all that is needed is to copy over myHome.xml - which is amazingly easy and it gets me back to the simple (Netbook friendly) Default screen.
