Some Apple Trailers simply will not play - I just get a message box popping up with "Cannot play (URL)" - see the screen-shot below.

For example, for the movie "Fantastic Mr Fox", the "World of Roald Dahl" selection will play fine:-

    2009-11-16 13:35:28.296875 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayer:ended http://127.0.0.1:30005/?url=http://.../fantasticmrfox/fantasticmrfox-fte2_h720p.mov

However, the "Trailer" selection from the same movie "Fantastic Mr Fox" will NOT play:-

    2009-11-16 13:34:52.984375 [Info.][MPMain]: VideoPlayer:play http://127.0.0.1:30005/?url=http://...t/fantasticmrfox/fantasticmrfox-fte_h720p.mov

2009-11-16 13:34:54.703125 [Debug][MPMain]: Remove filter from graph: File Source (URL)

The puzzling thing is, why is the MPEG-I Stream Splitter (a component of quartz.dll) chosen in this instance, instead of Haali Media Splitter (AR), for what appears to be an identical video format?

I have attached the log files from SAF and will be happy to supply any other log files that may be useful.

    Cheers,

I think I have found the solution to this issue ... :)

I increased the merit of the Haali Media Splitter (AR) to 0x00800000 so that it is greater than the MPEG-I Stream Splitter (which was causing the problem), and I decreased the merit of the ffdshow Audio Decoder (from 0x3FFFFFFF) to 0x00600000 because the ffdshow Audio Decoder was being inserted into some graphs along with the Monogram AAC Decoder.

I haven't done extensive testing of other areas of MediaPortal, so I can't be sure that these changes have not broken something, somewhere else ... but it looks fine, so far.

Maybe these changes need to be included in SAF?
