Thanks Chuck, that does help some, but it doesn't tell me where MP core actually invokes the dialogs, so when I go to test design changes I can't even find how to access some of them. I also consulted the window ids for each of the dialog files, but alas, since the dialogs are invoked in the core, not from the xml files, you would have to look at the source code to figure it out. That's beyond me!

What I am asking for may well be impossible. Perhaps it is variable and depends on the user interaction, not necessarily the current window or xml.

In any case, I do appreciate your reply!

I actually resorted to putting a temperary label identifying the dialogs used in the upper corner of each overlay and dialog xml so I could tell which were being invoked.

Ha! Very cool idea! I'm a bit slow :) I just resorted to the old trial and error skinning approach and have now found almost all of them. I always think I am going to update the Wiki but a) I never feel sure I understand everything and I'm loathe to give incorrect info and b) by the time I finish skinning my brain is mush and I'm exhausted and can barely remember my own name let alone what I did, LOL!

One day, I really hope I can get all the great skinners out there to help update the Wiki. It is such an invaluable tool, (I keep a browser window open on it I need it so often). But it is often what I would call technical documentation written from the developers perspective rather than user documentation. That is not to fault the Wiki, really it is us "skinners' and I barely include myself in that category, who are the only ones who can write it from a skinners perspective.
