Provided you didn't disable the settings, MovingPictures will automatic detect new files added to the configured import paths and it will add the movie to the database. However in order to do so, it has to be able to match it automatic. If you where to add "tt0499549.avi" then it has a 100% guaranteed successrate in adding "Avatar [2009]" movie to your database. If you add "Avatar [2009].avi" the odds go down a tiny bit (but not enough for auto-match to fail). If you add "Avatar.avi" it will still match it, based on popularity of the 2009 version, but if you in reality have the 2004 edition, then problems start. So start adding the IMDB tt.... number to your filenames, use NFO files containing the number, or rename your files to an exact match of the IMDB title with year and hope there aren't multiple movies released in that year with same title. But the import is fully automatic, now movies that fail to auto-match, and need a little help, you still need the configuration screen for that. You can make a direct link to the MovingPictures configuration screen, which bypasses MediaPortal config, but if you just name your files proper, you'll never have to use it. In the future MovingPictures will get the option to control the ability to approve those movies that failed to auto-match via GUI, but you will have to be patient for that. You can 'star' the issue on Google Code to keep updated on it, search the tickets on 'GUI' and it should popup in the list of results.
