Total newbie problem - "Missing or invalid file:" (1 Viewer)

Hey guys

I'm having what appears to be a common error - when I click on a plugin (in this case MP-TVSeries) I get a black screen with "Missing or invalid file:" displayed. I've looked at the last few similar threads, and it always seems to be a case of version confilicts, but I've tried it using the latest stable MP and plugin, as well as the CVS versions. I'm just using the standard out the box themes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums and thanks for searching first ;-)

This means that the skin file for the plugin you are using is missing.
If you use blue two then you shouldn't have this issue, but in most cases you can grab the file for blue two and then copy it to your chosen skin.

Make a note of the missing file in the error message then look in the skins/blue two folder of your MP install and then copy that file to the folder of the skin you are using.

Edit: it could also be that the plugin you are trying to use is not compatible with the version of MP you are using. If this is the case the only thing to do is to recompile the code for the new version (making any updates requited first) or see if the plug in creator or someone else will do it if you don't know how. Sorry, I forgot about that possibility first.

Please check if there is a TVSeries.xml in your skin folder. If not check the site of your skin for a current file. Sometimes (like with Monochrome) you have to seperatly select a TVSeries-xml, because there're several different versions.

Please tell what skin you're using.

Put all the xml files located in the languages\mp-tvseries folder into the languages directory. Worked for me.
