try copying the attached inf file in with the replacement driver and try installing it again. You'll have to rename it from .txt to just .inf.

Why are so many devices disabled in device manager?

The Custom HID plugin doesn't list anything that looks like a remote, all keyboard and mouse... so maybe the remote driver is not installed/working? Maybe it's a Vista-Only remote?

    Good luck,

ok, i will test this today afternoon

Why are so many devices disabled in device manager?

its a problem with X10 Remotes. If i plug-in my Remote-Receiver, Windows install more as one of this devices. if i dont disable this devices, MP make double-klicks if i use my Remote.

i think, its not a "only Vista" Remote. here the Product description
Centarea Master Remote II - Centarea HTPC Shop

this remote dont need a special driver.

    Good luck...
...say RoadRunner to the Coyote. thx

    EDIT:

    Aaron

    Two Questons:

    1) Must i overwrite the HID Device Driver with your INF or shell i replace the INF in the MCE Replacement Folder and start the install_XP.bat ?
    2) after installation, must i use the IR Suite or the MCE Replacement Plugin (or both) ?

ok, this shows that it's not an MCE compatible device (in terms of the interface, not the functionality). The MCE compatibility is because it simulates keyboard button presses.

I'd love to get my hands on one of these and give it a good going over.

I've just noticed that it's not like the other HID input devices I've seen ... it's actually registering itself as a Keyboard and a Mouse!

You might be able to get it to work with the Custom HID plugin if you select one of the keyboard entries. If that doesn't work you could try the Keyboard input relay application, this would pass keypresses on to the Input Service as if they are remote buttons (which they are :))

I'll take a look at the custom hid plugin again and the keyboard input relay and see if I can make some customisations to get it working 100% with your remote ...

We might get this sorted yet

    Cheers,

ok, so they are available in Australia... great.

If I can get the money together I'll buy one. If someone wants to donate one that would be cool by me :) ?

    Cheers,

A german retailer is generous enough to supply the team with this remote. As soon as the delivery has arrived I'll start on native support with a preconfigured "ready out of the box" mapping.

    Just be patient ;)

    Great news rtv,

It will be only a few moments after you've completed the implementation that I'll port it to IR Server Suite.

    Cheers,
