MP 1.7.1 displays (and plays) m4a files (including tag information) in the Shares view, and the Songs view, but refuses to show them in any of the other views (Album, Album Artist, Artist Tracks), even after deleting and recreating the Music DB.
Also, individual music files containing an apostrophe are correctly displayed, but groups which contain an apostrophe (e.g.the three letter group "IT'", which should contain tracks such as "It's Raining Men" are consistently empty.
AFAIK, these problems have existed at least since 1.5. Logs to follow.

could you do me a favour and turn off the debugging for MiniDisplay. It produces so muh output, that i can hardly follow what you do.
And then just produce a case searching in the "IT'" group.
I couldn't see the select statement being issued against the database.

Here are logs from just accessing the group "IT'", with the MiniDisplay plugin disabled.

...and here are logs from accessing Artist Tracks for "Savatage". As you can see from the screenshot of the share view in the first post, there should be a total of 13 tracks. However, only the mp3 files are displayed. The other 9 tracks are m4a files.

The first case with the "IT" group is clear for me.
I found a syntax error in the logs, since all string literals in a sql query are enclosed with a single apostrophe.
and this causes a syntax error, when the string itself contains an apostrophe. i need to escape it to work properly.
But this is the case since ages. so it never would have worked.

For the second case, i don't see any error in the log. the query is executing correctly. To me it looks like as if the "m4a" files are not in the database.
Maybe something went wrong when scanning the shares.
i would need a copy of your music database, if you want me to debug it. you could upload it to google drive, etc. and PM me the link, if you want to.

my first statement is incorrect. Looking at the code, the apostrophe should have been correctly escaped.
i don't know, why it wasn't tough. need to run a debug session

    Thanks for looking into this!
I have uploaded a DB copy to Dropbox and will PM you a link.
The symptoms have persisted through deletion and recreation of the Music DB with several versions of MP.

Many thanks! I'll try out the pre-release when I get a chance.
