What I'd like to do is have the ability to transfer recorded shows on a MP box to my NAS, so other boxes in the house can then play the files directly from the NAS. I was able to do this before in Xlobby by selecting the file and have the option of playing it, or transferring it, but now that I'm porting over to MP, I'd like to be able to do that again. Does anyone know how to go about it?

There should be no need to transfer the recordings, unless I am misunderstanding what exactly it is you want to do. All you need to do is install MP (client only + tv server plugin) on the other boxes and they will be able to watch the recordings. This is referred to as a multi-seat setup.

Sorry, I should have explained myself better...it doesn't help too that the system breakdown has really nothing to do with this system in question.

Basically I have two machines, each capable of video capturing, but by different methods. My main HTPC has an ATSC capture card in it and is capable of OTA HD recordings, which I will only watch from that machine as it is attached to a HDTV set. It does have a satellite capture card in it as well, but it isn't being used at this time.

My other machine has a PVR-150 installed in it that is recording from (and controlling via GBPVR currently) a satellite provider set-top box. I originally was using a combination of Xlobby for the frontend, GBPVR for TV recording, then MPC or Zoom Player for watching. Damn Hauppauge drivers would crash the system if I tried to do some LiveTV watching, so I would just flip to the satellite input on the old CRT TV for that duty...not a big deal.

I was hoping to use MP's TV server on that system too, but after having issues, and reading up on the headaches of others trying to get MP to control a set-top box without using an MCE remote, I've chosen now to drop that idea, and stick with GBPVR for recording. Now on this machine, I would like the choice of leaving the recordings on it, and watching them locally (which I'm sure I can get MP to update its video database directed towards the local machines recorded TV directory), or moving the recorded files to my NAS, since the server is on 24/7, so I can watch the programs on the HTPC setup, or any furture setup. I'm trying to keep shares between individual computers to a minimum as there is no guarantee that any one machine will be powered on when wanting to watch specific content, unlike the server, which is powered on all the time.

I hope that clears up why I'm asking for this. I guess one way would be to direct my recorded TV directory to the server...but wasn't sure if my network (not GigLAN yet) can handle the constant stream during a recording session (even though it is just SD content...so maybe it could...well worth a try I guess).

You can try but I don't think you will find it a good solution to save recordings directly to the NAS. I remember trying that once a long time ago and it was just not stable enough. Maybe you just want to consider a simple freeware sync program.
